I am ashamed...
...Ashamed that it took me this long to design some accounting-themed Father's Day cards. As a Dad and dad-joke enthusiast, you would think that this would have been higher on my priority list. Well friends, I've finally done it, just in time for this year's Father's Day festivities:
What's the Deal with Cliche Cards?
If you check out the Father's Day section of the greeting card aisle, you're sure to find cards containing beer, grilling, or my all-time favorite theme as a child - flatulence:
(you can check this card out here)
As someone who defaulted to fart cards as a child, I never thought I'd say this, but fart jokes can only go so far. My kids are 3 and 5, so I'm entering prime fart-joke territory. I fully expect to get "Farter's Day" cards for the next decade from my kids, but once they're in high school I expect a little more thought from their greeting cards.
Skip the Mushy Stuff
I'm not at all a fan of the mushy "did you ever know that you're my hero" type of cards (young people who don't get the reference, click here). Do you want to make me cry tears of joy? How about cleaning your room without me asking, picking up your damn Legos off the floor, offering to mow the lawn, or getting a full scholarship to college?
By now you've all thought "oh shit, when is Father's Day??" and have Googled to find out that it is in fact on Sunday, June 19. You've got a week and a half, so take the time to buy a quality Father's Day card that will make your dad laugh.
