Busy Season Madness - Round 1 Results

Busy Season Madness is one round in, and much like this year's March Madness tournament there sure are a lot of upsets (including a MONSTER performance by 12 Seeded Jack Ryan).

Check out the results of Round 1 below, then submit your votes for Round 2. Voting will close Tuesday night!

Audit Division:

1 Seed Christian Wolff (The Accountant) vs. 16 Seed Corporate Accounts Payable Nina (Office Space)

Overall Number 1 seed Christian Wolff took care of business with 62% of the vote.

Kevin Malone absolutely dominated his matchup with 85% of the vote.

THE FIRST UPSET OF BUSY SEASON MADNESS!!! Lumbergh busted out his "O" face after pulling 69% ("Oh, Oh!") of the vote.

4 Seed Calvin Joyner (Central Intelligence) vs. 13 Seed Dana Cummings (The Accountant)

It was a bad day for forensic accountants, as both Allen Gamble and now Calvin Joyner lost to lower seeds.  Dana Cummings moves on to the next round with 69% of the vote.

5 Seed Peter Burke (White Collar) vs. 12 Seed Jack Ryan (Jack Ryan)

In a battle of FBI vs. CIA, Jack Ryan and the CIA blanked Agent Burke with 100% of the vote.  I guess none of you ever watched White Collar...

6 Seed Leopold Bloom (The Producers) vs. 11 Seed Guillermo Pallomari (Narcos)

Pallomari pulls off the upset in a close one with 55% of the vote.

7 Seed Count von Count (Sesame Street) vs. 10 Seed Ebenezer Scrooge

The number of the day is 77% of the vote for the Count.

8 Seed Norm Peterson (Cheers) vs. 9 Seed Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)

Tyrion came up just a bit short (too easy) as Norm takes home 54% of the vote.

Tax Division

1 Seed Irwin R. Schyster (WWF) vs. 16 Seed Grady Fletcher (Murder She Wrote)

Upset She Wrote!!  Grady Fletcher pulls off the major upset against the number 1 seed, no doubt riding on the coattails of his Aunt Jess.  Grady wins it with 54% of the vote.

2 Seed Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas (Midnight Run) vs. 15 Seed Notorious BIG's Accountant

Duke didn't even make it to the NCAA Tournament this season, and "The Duke" is knocked out in Round 1 as Notorious BIG's Accountant takes a whopping 85% of the vote.

3 Seed Oscar Wallace (The Untouchables) vs. 14 Seed Louis Tully (Ghostbusters)

Another bracket (Ghost)buster as Louis Tully edges out the not-so-Untouchable Oscar Wallace with 54% of the vote.

4 Seed Ben Wyatt (Parks & Recreation) vs. 13 Seed Petyr Baelish (Game of Thrones)

Sanity is restored as the higher seed Ben Wyatt comfortably moves into Round 2 with 85% of the vote.

5 Seed Skyler White (Breaking Bad) vs. 12 Seed Iceman (X-Men)

Skyler White blazes past Iceman with a dominant 92% of the vote.

6 Seed Loretta Castorini (Moonstruck) vs. 11 Seed Paul Giamatti Celebrity Accountant

This Celebrity Accountant was ready for the big stage and edged out the Moonstruck star with 54% of the vote.

7 Seed Albert Brennaman (Hitch) vs. 10 Seed Harold Crick (Stranger than Fiction)

It's a bad day for Will Ferrell characters as Harold Crick could only must 46% of the vote.  Critics are wondering whether Albert Brennaman had someone outside assistance on this one...

8 Seed Angela Martin (The Office) vs. 9 Seed Oscar Martinez (The Office)

We knew this would be a close and heated matchup (after all, Angela did try to put a hit on Oscar's kneecaps after her ex-fiancee cheated on her with Oscar...), but Oscar pulls off the close win with 54% of the vote.

Cash Flow Division

1 Seed Gordan Gekko (Wall Street) vs. 16 Seed Leland Owlsley (Marvel)

Gordan Gekko gets greedy with all the votes and take a commanding 92% win in Round 1.

The Duke's move on with 60% of the vote, while Steve Rhoades goes to join Al Bundy at the Nudy Bar to watch the rest of the tournament.

4 Seed Bobby Axelrod (Billions) vs. 13 Seed Taylor Mason (Billions)

Bobby Axelrod shows his one-time protege that they have much to learn as he takes nearly 70% of the vote to move on to Round 2.

5 Seed Chandler Bing (Friends) vs. 12 Seed Billy Ray Valentine (Trading Places)

In the first big upset of the Cash Flow Division, Billy Ray Valentine takes 62% of the vote to boot Chandler Bing, who was powerless without his Friends.

6 Seed Marty Byrde (Ozark) vs. 11 Seed Andy Dufresne (The Shawshank Redemption)

In a matchup of generational powerhouses, the Byrde is the word with 53% of the vote.

7 Seed Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) vs. 10 Seed Chris Gardner (The Pursuit of Happyness)

Voters opted for the feel-good story as Chris Gardner pulls off the upset over Patrick Bateman, who undoubtedly is headed to Dorsia to drown his sorrows (if he can still get a reservation).

8 Seed Seth Davis (Boiler Room) vs. 9 Seed Bud Fox (Wall Street)

Bud Fox keeps his focus in Round 1 and takes 62% of the vote, setting up a much anticipated second round matchup against Gordon Gekko.

Ethics & Compliance Division

The 16 seed couldn't catch up as Frank Abagnale, Jr. takes over 90% of the vote.

5 Seed George Bluth Sr. (Arrested Development) vs. 12 Seed Dick Harper (Fun with Dick and Jane)

No need searching through the banana stand for extra votes, as Bluth takes a comfortable 70% of the vote.

6 Seed Henry Gondorff and Johnny Hooker (The Sting) vs. 11 Seed Gustavo Fring (Breaking Bad)

Gustavo Fring doesn't fall for the Sting this time, taking 69% of the vote. And with no Walter White in the tournament he has his eyes set on the trophy.

7 Seed Jimmy Pope (Syriana) vs. 10 Seed Neal Caffrey (White Collar)

Oil exec Jimmy Pope says he's not guilty as he edges out the White Collar crime department's Neal Caffrey 54 to 46.

8 Seed Michael Corleone (The Godfather) vs. 9 Seed Frank Lucas (American Gangster)

I expected a closer game between gang bosses who are each known to boldly shoot opponents in the head, but Corleone takes a commanding 70% of the vote.
